Salma Hayek

SalmaSalma Hayek Pinault (born Salma Valgarma Hayek , born September 2, 1966)[3][4][5]) is an American and Mexican actress. Her career began in Mexico by playing a lead role in the Telenovela Teresa (1989-1991) as also in the romantic drama El Callejon de los Milagros (1995) for which she won an Ariel Award nomination. Through appearances in films like Desperado (1995), From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999) and Dogma (1999) She quickly made her mark in Hollywood. Hayek's portrayal as painter Frida Kahlo in the biographical film Frida (2002) which she also directed was the first Mexican actress to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress[6as well as earning her Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award and British Academy Film Award nominations. Hayek continued to make films as well as starring in action film Once Upon a Time in Mexico in the years following.
